My Bunny Babies

The Twins- Louie (left) Mo (right)

The Twins-
The sister and brother pair are New Zealand white rabbits who was born to a St. Louis meat breeder in February of 2009.  They came into rescue in May 2009 where they were named after the city they would be saved from: St. Louis, Missouri.  I met the twins in the summer of 2009 when I began volunteering at the rescue.  After a few years of visiting them at the rescue, Damon and I began fostering them in February of 2012, a few months after we lost our first bunny, Benjamin.  In July of that same year we officially adopted the twins and our little family hasn't been the same.  You can read more about the twins adventures on their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/16PoundsofWhiteFury

Mo aka "The Princess"
Our girl is a 9 pounds "light" and the princess of the house.  Mo is the dominant one of the two and calls most of the shots.  She is a sweet girl who does things on her own terms.  Of the two, Mo is the easier to handle and accept love.  The most noticeable way to pick out Mo is her mohawk. On Friday, August 29th, 2014, our sweet Mo crossed the rainbow bridge after being diagnosed with cutaneous lymphoma.

Louie aka "Sir Louis"
Our boy is Mo's 8-pound "little brother" and has been called "the turd" by my husband due to his curious and adventurous side. When we first got Louie, he used to hop around carrying things in his mouth like a dog.  He doesn't do it much now unless he's stealing something he thinks he is not supposed to have.   Though he can be a bit wild, when sister Mo is around Louie is the submissive and follows her commands.  Where we can pick out Mo due to her mohawk, we can recognize Louie by his crooked tail.

Foster Bunny Theodore aka "Ironman"
Theodore came into rescue July 8th, 2012 when he was found living on the lamb in Jeffersonville, IN.  Theo has been through a lot in his life after being rescued.  He was found with grass awns embedded in his jaw which caused to abscesses to form.  Plus, malocclusion which led to having his front incisors removed.  He is a tough boy and even without his incisors he eats EVERYTHING like a champ, hence the nickname Ironman.  We had spent time with Theodore in rescue care and he and I became fast friends.  When the rescue started to become overfull in the summer of 2013, Damon and I agreed to foster Theo to help free some space.  Of course, not long after coming to stay with us, Damon (the bunny whisperer) has turned lil Theo into his buddy and I now have to beg for attention and love.  Theo is a sweet lil old man (not 100% certain of his age) who loves to be the center of attention.  The longer he has been with us the more confident he is becoming as well.  Recently, our vet could not believe he was the same bunny she knew due to how much he fought her during the exam.
